Fall fest is this weekend and I am excited to attend. This will be my first one and was curious as to what suggestions everyone had on anything special I would need/want to bring. I'm hoping to leave with a good amount of corals and maybe a fish or two. I'll have about a 2 hour travel time.
    Thanks!

Bring money...lots and lots of money....you'll realize quickly when you get here that you'll be forced to choose which frags you "have to have" because you can't take them alk with you!

Constantly reminding Jen that. May also want to bring the hand warmer heat packs as well, with these weird sudden temp drops.

Dont be afraid to stick your hand out and introduce yourself. We are all friendly & like to hear where you are from and what your setup is like.

Handwarmer heat packs are not recommended they can get up to around 150° so if you must use those make sure there is plenty of space or newspaper/towel in between them.

Looks like @PRS@PRS has some nice frag transport holders that will be at the show

    ^^ this

There is a discussion in a private sponsor's forum on R2R about this exact subject, not something most people think about unless you're in the business of selling frag a lot. Heat packs also need oxygen to work so if you use them you have to activate them first, then let them heat up (like in your pocket) and then once they are to temp, put them in the box but leave air/vent holes in there instead of in a closed cooler where they will use up all the O2

They make specialty heat packs that don't get as hot and last longer but you have to order these usually. So hand/foot warmers will do for a short trip but like @Armydog@Armydog said, you need to make sure they are not in direct contact with your frag bags/cups/etc, put plenty of padding in between to spread out the heat

If you use a heat pack I would bring a towel from home to wrap it in . You want to warm the air in the container and not the bags directly containing fish or corals. If you use heat packs in a small box and seal the box "air tight" you may limit the flow of oxygen to the packs and turn the chemical reaction off or slow the process . If you chose to keep your cooler in your truck bed or trunk of your car.I do not think that a 2 hour drive would use up all the oxygen and render the heat pack ineffective. Much of the warmth would be retained in the cooler for that period of time. I would think most people could probably keep the cooler in the inside of their vehicle instead of a truck bed or the trunk of a car and they could easily keep the cooler lid open a crack inside their vehicle.

Yes I will. I will have a couple small coolers also just in case somebody forgot and needs one also. I created the frag carriers for events like this and going to the LFS. They hold the frags securely so they do not lay on their side. They hold more water than a small bag or cup. (Make sure the vendor fills it up) Which holds the temperature from swinging as quick. Put it in a cooler and your are good for browsing the swap and making it home without a heat pack. Plus more water in a larger container makes for easier acclimation at home.
