Wow you guys! What a great time we had, there was a mob of nearly 20 of us for today's tour and we had a great time! Special thanks to our hostess Deb (crabbyo) for letting us have our final stop at her home where we ate dinner, desert, had a few beers, saw a rocking reef tank, and her horses! We really can't thank you enough, and it was so nice that you guys really enjoyed having us! Look forward to seeing you again soon!!!
The afternoon started off rough! We got to Sea of Marvels to meet at 2 and I got a call that Elliot's car had broken down, and our host for our first stop wasn't there! The group split up, most of the group went to the first stop to see if they were waiting for us at home, and my van went to rescue Elliot. While we had good news getting Elliot's car pushed into an acceptable parking space and picking him up for the tour, our first host was nowhere to be found!
Good timing though, we were now all ready to meet at Kylie's, and whoa, great cabinetry, and some sweet LED's! Very nice!
    [IMG][IMG]
Next we were off to my place, and I almost drank some skimmer juice!
    Then we went to see Elliot's tank, the biggest and most phosphate filled tank on the tour lol;
It was a great opprotunity for people to see what was possible with LED's on a large tank. Actually 3 out of 4 tanks on our tour were LED tanks!
Last and certainly not least!!!!! Deb's tank (and her home) was incredible, remarkable!
Yeah, but what's under the hood?
This view screams TOTM, very nice!
I can't wait to see you guys next time!

It was a fun day. Great meeting everyone and seeing all the awesome tanks. Hopefully in the spring I'll have something worth showing off.
Again a big thanks to Deb and John for being the final stop and hosting a nice chili dinner.

John & I had a great time and now I'm ready to shop for some fish!! Our kids are happy because they get the left-over chili for their freezers so everybody's smiling! J (lehrjet) did do a great job on rewiring the lights and getting things into shape. He's also a very good teacher and I'm starting to pick up some of the concepts and how to's. We'd be happy to host another event if it works out. Thanks, everyone, for coming along!!/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Great Pictures. Man I was so itching to go today, but just couldn't let my boy down and miss his football game.
On that note I can say by looking at all the picture these are some great looking tanks, but one caught my eye and that's because the picture is just great. Andy yours is like a picture taken right from the Reef. Great pictures and keep on keeping on.
    Thanks for the looks
    Kyle

There was one small trauma during the evening - Gennevieve got shut in the basement and I didn't find her until bedtime. Guys, she couldn't get to the food dish for over an hour!! She was almost in need of therapy!!

Deb and John thank you so much for the dinner great to have some place at the end of tour to sit down relax and talk tanks with everybody. This was my first tank tour and I loved it. Got a work out pushing Elliots car at the start.LOL
Kylie's tank very pretty ,clean and she has a phytoplankton farm going on very cool. Nice wood cabinet as well.
Andys tank very big and that porthole made everything really cool. His under cabinet setup was packed with cool stuff.(drinking the skimmer juice to prove your dedication though.) lol
Elliots tank was very cool , Bare bottom , big and loaded with tons of corals and fish. The more you look the more you find.
Debs tank took it to another level though. The cabinet was just breath taking and the lights were very nice . Loved the ro water on tap at the sink. Very clean tank
All together great tour and had a ton a fun meeting and talking with everybody. Can't wait till the next one.

Thanks to all the hosts for opening up your homes and to Andy for organizing things (and to Deb and her SO for the meal, which I had to (regrettably) miss!); it was great seeing everything!
I'll add a few photos and video clips I took with my point and shoot camera..........although Andy took some very nice pictures with his much nicer camera already [IMG]

Cool brain coral from Kylie's tank
    [IMG]
Green clown goby from Kylie's tank (sorry, its horribly blurry, but it was so stinkin' cute, had to include it)
I forgot to get a picture of Kylie's lights or a an action clip of her tank (doh!).  She's also making greenwater and has a cool little set-up for that, which I also forgot to snap a picture of, darn........

Elliot's tank.  The fish in the foreground was almost always front and center and was absolutely stunning!  Sorry for the horrible picture, but you know how hard it is to get a decent picture of a fish [IMG]

Not sure why I didn't take a full shot of Elliot's tank, lol, or if I did, what happened to it /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif  I missed Deb's tank, so no shots/clips of that one, but hopefully I'll get out to see it another time...........thanks again; love to see other set-ups and hear what's working and what isn't and everyone's opinions etc. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif

i really need to get to these tours more often! I always miss out on seeing some great tanks. Once the wedding is done my tank is getting an over haul so maybe 2013 I'll be on the tour stops. Right now I just love these pics as they are giving me a list of ideas and a list of things I need to invest in. Circling LED lightning right now! Maybe I'll add that to the gift list for wedding gifts /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/biggrin.gif
