after spending several weeks laying in bed recovering from surgery, i was able to do some maintaince to my tank and i noticed my maroon clown has what appears to be some fin rot.  fin seems frayed and the top fin seems some what frayed.  what kind of treatments are there for this?  his behavior seems normal, eating swimming and breathing.

It may just be that another fish did some fin nipping. There is a product called melafix that will heal it up.

Is it safe to use the melafix in the DT? A couple of my fish have some deformaties from a nasty bout of ich a while back.

just be careful. Fishyness used either melafix or pimafix a while back and aparently it uses up a lot of oxygen in the water and it killed all her fish. Not bashing melafix, I love the stuff. Just a word of caution.

yeah i have decided it isnt fin rot. I think my clown and blemmy had an argument as the fins are so much ragged as they seem to have a chunk missing out of it. i can see the little bone on the top fin where the flesh was. it is begining to heal now.
