so currently i have 2 false perculas and eventually want to add a gobby, wrasse and maybe a jawfish or blemmy to my setup.
im pretty sure that will completely stock my 55gal reef with fish, any thoughts on this list IE what i should add next? Maybe that 1 fish i could add for the WOW factor?

Actually if you add slow & have good skimmer & maybe a refugium you could add more.

I am always partial to pygmy angels, there are tons n tons of cool fish to choose from.

looks like most of the angels (on live aquaria.com) have reef-compatable "with caution". Anyone with experience with these?

The Gobie and the jawfish and/or blenny, may not get along, as they may look too similar but it depends on what kinds you get. I had a couple that were similar in coloring and body type and one of them harassed the more timid species night and day......

I was wondering about that, I would really like a blue spot jawfish, but i also am under the impression that a gobby is kind of important to stir the sand.

Jay has a Blue spotted jawfish and a yellow watchman goby and they are just fine in the same tank. They each have their areas in the tank (29g). Jawfish doesn't travel much int he tank, jsut hangs out around his buriend PVC home Jay made for him.

It really depends on the coloring and body type and their habits of course. I had a bicolor pseudochromis and a royal gramma and they both have very similar coloring and body types.  The bicolor was much more territorial and aggressive and bascially spent all its time tracking down the gramma so he could harass him /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/sad.gif  I didn't do my research and just relied on what the salesperson suggested, (which was false info).  Just do your research and ask around to find others who have actually had the fish you want to get.

I have a yellow clown gobie with a big sailfin blenny and they get along fine...so, you might consider a combo like that
