Is there any good fish stores besides Adams and seascapes in des moines?
also any around des moines that are worth a drive?

Outside of those two, the Petco near Jordan Creek has a fish manager with a saltwater passion. He gets a better coral selection than any other chain store I've seen.

There's a new shop going in a couple doors down from where the swap was on NE 14th last Saturday. They were thinking they'd be open inside of a month, and would post an announcement here when they were ready to go.

I haven't been to Aqualand since the remodel but they always had a very large selection of FW fish. I believe they've got a smaller SW selection however I can't verify this. It would be worth a trip. The man that used to run it has a very good knowledge base for aquatics.

We accidentally walked into the soon-to-be-opened store thinking it was the swap. Pretty pumped about a new store opening!

I've been to Aqualand as recently as a few months ago, and there is no saltwater after the remodel. They got out about the time Seascapes opened. I believe that the person who opened Seascapes was the saltwater expert at Aqualand.

Aqualand is great for FW as mentioned. They don't have any saltwater fish or supplies to my knowledge, only some brackish fish such as puffers. I was last in there about 2 months ago if it has changed since then.

They have a great name picked out but I don't think they are ready to share it. I am sure they are going to want to protect the identity legally first.

Sweet, DSM needs a new store! I need somewhere new to go drool and daydream. It'd be sweet if they could cater toward herp keeping, and something other than ball pythons, bearded dragons, and leopard geckos. I mean, dart frog keeping. Lol anybody that knows me knows that darts are what I've gravitated toward. I'd like to get back into reefing, maybe a new place will get me there! Nothing wrong with Seascapes, but since their crash/sabotage, it just hasn't been the same. Hopefully they'll be able to bounce back as well.

It is a small start up business by John (Cowdust) and I think will be a nice store with decent prices.
