As many of you know, I am on the road a lot. Anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months at a time, depending on the job and location. I was wondering what addatives are best to keep on hand in case of problems at home.
    I have some Prazi
    Prime
    Kent ammo lock
    And coppersafe.
Anything else I should keep just in case?

I keep prazi, chloram-X, formalin, methylene blue, malachite green... don't really have occasion for anything else as that pretty well covers everything.

Great idea! I think your Prime and Ammo Lock do the same thing, so both probably aren't necessary. I do keep Prime on hand.

If there is any reason for my fish to be stressed - tank rearrange, new fish added, tank thrown in mini cycle, etc. I soak their frozen food in a fresh crushed clove of garlic. The benefits of garlic really help them fight off ich or anything else that could get them when their immune system is down. Since you're looking for something storable, I'd recommend Garlic Guard.

I'm also fan of Metronidazole and Focus. I will also soak the frozen food in this if I suspect someone is sick. It will address parasites and bacterial infections. AND - although no treatment is considered safe for reefs, this can be used in reefs without any negative impacts. The Focus binds the medication to the food so very little goes into the water column, however I definitely would not dose it in the water, food only. I also wouldn't use this or any medication unless it's absolutely necessary. That said, it saved all my fish from a brooklynella outbreak a couple years ago and I swear by it.

So I guess Prime, Garlic Guard, Focus, and Metronidazole is it for me. It would be wise to always have fresh media on hand too.

Ha, I got stung by my fuzzy dwarf lionfish last week so I saw this and thought first aid for us!

I do keep prime on hand for tank emergencies and I keep a large bag of carbon set aside for the same reason. Can't say I am a believer in garlic, Shayna's method of using fresh garlic would be the best imo as many compounds in garlic break down quickly. Maybe keep a clove in the fridge?
