    Tonights topic....
SAYING i'll take it and not showing up...
I'm sure i'm not the only person this has happened to. This is the 4th time i've had someone say "please hold it for me and i'll pick it up on such and such day" and NOT show up or call. You people that are guilty of this know who you are. I tell others that it's sold and get stuck trying to sell it over again when it could have been gone already. I can't imagine anyone on this forum not having a cell phone or landline to call from. I know things come up out of the blue but AT LEAST have the common decence to let the people know and not just blow them off. Not everyone on this planet has nothing else better to do then you.
and that's the rest of the story...good day!!!!!

I hate when that happens. Today actually, I just drove from Muscatine to Waterloo and back to pick up two items. I wish I knew that Rich, I would have stopped by on my way back.

Yeah Rich...I bet that's frustrating. Common decency can be uncommon these days. Fortunately, I've had pretty good luck with all of the club members that I've dealt with. This kind of a case is what the Buyer/Seller feedback forum is for. People should know that if they pull something like this, it hurts everyone involved. For them, their buying/selling reputation, for you, lost sales opportunities and for others, lost purchasing opportunities. Good luck with re-posting and selling the item in question.

One way to avoid that is to make sure you get there number, and if they don't show up right away to give them a call. Sometimes there is a honest mistake, or something has came up and they didn't call. I actually got busy, and didn't get to a phone call, last week for some snails, and I had already left for des moines, and I felt bad, it was a accident on my part. First of it was my fault for not properly planning, and not getting with the person the day before to make sure we were still good. I'm not trying to try to not blame it on the person, but there could be a honest mistake, or poor planning.

That sucks Rich, hope you get whatever you had for sale sold to people who really want it.

I agree with the cell phone thing. If you PM someone about buying something, exchange phone numbers. This way there is no BS excuse for not being able to get a hold of the other person.

paypal is nice if people are going to be shipping stuff. If it was going to be > $50, I think paypal may be good for in person stuff if they want to "reserve" it imo.

Had nothing but a great experience buying stuff from you Rich, sorry to hear you have not been returned the favor here and there.
