I have one in each of my reef tanks and they have never bothered any of my coral. But it is a crap shoot. You might get a coral nipper so be prepared to extract it if necessary. I feed everyday so they are fat and healthy so I think that helps.

I have had two flame angels in my 4 years with reef tanks - sadly I lost the first one due to a power failure while I was out of town. The first one was in a mixed reef and never touched anything. The one I have now seems to be unable to resist nipping at the long polyps on my pocillopora as well as some star polyps.. my majestic angel does the exact same thing. However, they don't ever appear to do any actual damage... I definitely say go for it!

I had a mated pair of them but had to get rid of them as they were always nipping at the polyps on my SPS preventing them from extending. But on the same note I've had them in the past in other tanks with no issues with nipping at corals. I really want one again too but just haven't got the courage to try one again as catching it if there is a issue without tearing the tank apart would be almost impossible.

I had one with no coral issues as well, just picked at the rocks, not the corals. I would recommend for any tank, they are beautiful!!! I did have issues with it being aggressive towards my tang tho, they did not like each other
