I have a 75g FOWLR with a ton of LR. Right now I have 2 clowns/1 velevet damsel. I was orginally going to make the tank a softie tank but gave up on getting my specs in order. How ever IF I can get them in order in the future I would like to add some mushrooms, leather or a frgspawn for the clowns. With that being said....I would like to add a few chromis. I was thinking 3 to get closest to the schooling effect but still give me room for more fish. I have read they like the top of the tank and no fish there now....

The others I was thinking are: goby and foxface. I'd like input on experience. I am sticking with herbivores for the most part as I don't want to add meat to my feeding regimen just yet.

Anyone want to convince me that meat isn't a hard as I think? I feed nori and pellets now.

The club diy food has meat in it and is a cost effective option. I think there will be a food event next month.

+1 on Dave's response. Having carnivorous fish in the tank is no problem.

I started my 75 FWLRO tank 10 years ago. About 6 yrs ago I started adding corals - first mushrooms, zoas, leathers and other softies. Then I progressed to LPS and finally to SPS.

As for fish, I started with 2 clowns, a bangai cardinal, and a coral beauty dwarf angel and 3 blue/green chromis. Over time I added a six-line wrasse, blue hippo tang, a yellow tang, and a sunrise dottyback. I started with 3 fish and gradually added livestock - never more than a total of 10 at a time. The chromis are gone as is the six-line wrasse, blue hippo tang and dottyback. But I've got a flame hawkfish and a mandarin. Never had a problem with feeding.

So if anyone has recommendations on fish I'd love to hear 'em. I want to go with the chromis-any body want to tell me not to waste my time? It sounds like they don't last very long.

The wrasse is something I would like-everyone talks about the 6 line one, is that the cheapest or heardiest or what???

The foxface for whenf" I come into some algae...Although my velvet damsel already ate all my red bubble algae so she might already take care of that end...

I am told not to do a blenny as they are VERY boring fish, anyone have an opposite opinion?

I would like to do a goby, I think the mandarin is in that catagory...

Far as meaty foods, the frozen club food was the way I was planning to go. Most likely freeze it into very small cubes on a length of fishing line (this is what I'm thinking anyway), that way I can drop it into the tank 4 the fish and it will esentially be in one area so I can watch it and C if it gets eaten. The thing with me and feeding is I do not EVER overfeed. I feed enough to the fish for them but when they start letting food go by I stop. The thing with meat is how to do my feeding the way I do it-I think the small cube idea will take care of that-any opinions or anyone try anything like that?

    THX 4 input.
