Unless she is under 18 years old. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/biggrin.gif

Or whatever constitutes as a "kid" since they get in for free....

If the person is married wouldn't that mean they have a family membership? Which would mean that the wife would also technically be a member. Guess im confused on this one.

It has always been this way at most fests.

The issue arose when people were bringing BF, GF, people they claimed to be kids when they were obviously in their 20's. Then two guys who said they were married, so it changed to one person, one admission to make it simple & keep honest people honest.

Isn't there a pretty easy way to tell? I mean I always wear my ring.

I was of the understanding that spouses got in free also.

Ya, but the grey area came in when it was boyfriend, girl friend, fiance, and so on, or roommates.

There is only one problem I would have with allowing a spouse in with the paying person; the raffle. The "free" spouse should have to pay the admission fee just like the rest of us to partake in the raffle. Seems fair to me. Thoughts?

Doesn't matter to me my wife hardly ever comes to anything other than local events. But it does kind of defeat the "family" in family membership. If your resisted as a family then have to pay another 15 bucks to attend i could see that being a turn off for alot of people whose wives are active with the fests. Might be something to work on for next year?

Did not know we even had a family membership. How much is that? And if you do have one then your wife should get in free as well.

This is also the first I've ever heard of family membership either. Never knew such a thing existed. I agree with Craig that the current way keeps it simple and keeps honest people honest. Don't have to get into people's relatioinships.

Article 4 section 3 in the constitution. It use to be 35 a year then i think it got dropped down to 20 a year....but i can't say for sure its been awhile since i played attention to all that

If they are actually registered & paid as a $35 family, then yes it would entitle them to get in, but in the last 4 years, no one has registered as such.

I don't even know if registering as a family is even an option when you renew anymore. I remember something with the discussion when they lowered the cost but not why or what the reasoning was for the drop

I cant honestly remember why when where how either.

Good thing to put on the agenda for the business meeting. Get it written down so there are no questions or debates about it in the future. After the election, we need a thread for business meeting agenda topics.

I think the simple solution to this would be to allow club members to bring 1 guest.
