   I remember reading somewhere that you need ball bearing fans if you want them to point any direction off horizontal. Is that right? If so, a sleeve fan would be fine but you can't point it down onto a sump or tank...someone knows...

   Bud, I am not sure where that is from but it is not true and you can place modern fans, especially those for computers, in any position.
