    so who does freshwater tanks?
I currently only have 2 small freshwater tanks, a 5 gal betta tank and a 15 gal Zebra Danio tank.
I am dying to find a steal of a  deal on a 55 gal and stand so I can set up an African Cichlid tank!
does anyone know any good freshwater stores around cedar rapids or waterloo/cedar falls?

I have quite a bit of freshwater - although my interest is leaning more toward saltwater now. Pets Playhouse has a large fish selection in CR.

Look on Craigslist before buying new. The used tank market is pretty large and usually worth a lil road trip if you get extras. Between DSM, CR, CF/LOO, and IC I'm sure you can find a steal.

I have 12 freshwater tanks totaling over 350 gallons running right now.  African, SA, CA, and Madagascar cichlids.  Several different livebearers.  Hillstream loaches.  Tetras.  Killifish.  Corydoras.

I use to be pretty heavy into the cichlid thing myself. One stop into AE a yr ago changed all that.

I have 2 - 55 gallon tanks I am trying to sell. One is currently in use as a freshwater tank. The other is my salt tank that here soon will be moved to my 125 gal I bought a few weeks ago. Looking for $150 for tank and stand on each set. Will sell everything one load, one person for $350. The fresh water setup is a complete 55 gallon kit from Petco. The stands are from Wal-Mart and hold up well. Looking for $200 for fresh water setup - kit, stand, decor, filters (HOB and under gravel), heater, 2 air pumps for under gravel filter. Even have live stock in tank that if you want it can go for free. All equipment on the salt tank stays for now as I may need it on my 125 gal. Call / text me @ 319-849-8439 with any questions or to schedule a showing if you are still looking that is.

I know fishyness has an african cichlid tank that I believe is a 55g. Black edging and black wood stand with lights and such. And last I heard, she was telling me she'd like to get rid of it. You may want to ask her /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif

Don't think so lol.  I have a large black moor that turned gold, a clown loach, a black tetra, and a pletco.  Had all of them since a 10 gallon tank.  There were others but they didn't make the move from the apartment to the house back in Nov.
All my saltwater fish died when my dumbarse forgot to leave my AquaClear 110 on when I added my Rapids Pro 1000 so I screwed up the biological system in the tank and they couldn't handle it.  So buying new fishes once I get the 125 turned.
