Frogfish

Discussion in 'Buy/Sell/Trade' started by DSPENCE, Feb 7, 2013.

  1. Small and cute Dark Red Painted Angler with white edges on it's fins for sell. Bought from Divers Den about 2 mos. ago and is eating slices of Silversides VERY well. Measures about 1 1/2" and as soon as it sees you approach the tank with the tweezers, the lure comes out and starts waving. Price on DD was $69 when requiring live food.....I'm asking $59./DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/tongue.gif

I'd buy it in a heartbeat if you were closer.

  3. I'm planning a trip to Brooklyn tomorrow, late afternoon. Could meet you somewhere off I 80....maybe Williamsburg.

  4. what an awesome little guy

  5. Thanks...he's pretty cool. We were going to do a FOWLR tank, but it's going to be put off until we finish some remodeling projects. He's still available and I have a video of feeding time I can send to anyone interested. I hope when we're ready, I'm able to find another one that I can train to eat frozen.

  6. This awesome fish is still available and would make a unique addition to a reef or FOWLR tank. I do a lot of traveling and can possibly deliver or meet for delivery.

LiveAquaria says they're reef safe. How is this if they eat fish?

I think something is reef safe if it doesn't eat coral. Reef safe with caution if it gets larger and will eat shrimp and larger fish.

  11. Nope, his name is Steve....I'm Deb and no store......Hi!
They're reef safe in that they don't bother the reef, i.e., eat coral, snails, hermit crabs, starfish, etc.

  12. Yep, but I think you mean smaller fish. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif It's with a Fire Shrimp and doesn't bother it, but the shrimp is bigger and I feed the angler, Virgil, named after Virgil Ward Championship fishing show, every other day. I used to have a Fuzzy Lion with a damsel and it never bothered to try to eat it, but I kept the Lion well fed. Don't know if I would have tried that with a more expensive fish./DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/blink.gif

Hi Deb what size of a tank do you have?

  14. I have a 25 gal reef tank and a 5 gal. Nano reef that has some Yahsa gobies and a Randall's Pistol Shrimp. Once the remodeling is done on our house, I hope to get a larger tank again. How about yourself?

90 reef, 75 reef, 29 bio and a 125 freshwater. Just got rid of a 28 nano. In the process of getting rid of 75 and 125.

  16. Wow....downsizing. So, you're just going have the 90? Too bad we're not ready for a bigger tank....I had a 125 and it was an awesome tank.
