I basically have no idea on how much frozen food to give my fish. I have never seen anyone feed a tank so I have been going at it blind for the most part. I have a feeling I am overfeeding.
I use Rod's food. I was wondering if someone could suggest an approximate sized hunk of frozen food to feed my tank for one feeding. Please use inches or comparative examples (ex. 1/2" x 1/2" x 1/4" thick or 'size of quarter')
I am also wondering how to properly prepare the frozen food before putting it in my tank. My current method is to drop the frozen chunk in a small glass of saltwater and mixing it. (no straining) If I need to strain it what do you use?
My tank is stocked with mostly Medium sized fish:1. Yellow Tang2. Yellow Tang3. Purple Tang4. Naso Tang5. Blue Tang6. Scopas Tang7. Foxface Rabbitfish8. Chromis9. Chromis10 Potters Angel11. Holy cow, you have a ton of fish!!!!!!

Never strain Rods food, you strain the good stuf out.

You are mixing it right, soem fish wont eat it if it is the wrong temp, and some coral will reject it if it is fresh, no salinity.

I would feed a square in a day or more. depends on if you hang seaweed for the tangs or not.

Rods does make a Herbivore mix for your tangs too that is cheaper.

Thanks for your response. I do hang seaweed daily.
What size is a 'square'? I bought a large packet of both the orange original blend and the green herbivore blend. They both are flat and whole and not divided into squares.
Also, I noticed the green is basically the orange with Nori added, correct?

    oops, meant 1 inch

No the green doesnt have all the micro foods for your corals. You notice when you feen the origional it seems to have alot of liquid food that the herbivore of fish only doesnt have.

I feed rods food too, and I let it get sucked up against the screen of one of my powerheads...the water flowing by it thaws it and blows it all over the tank so you don't have your fish all congregating in one area and fighting over the food. It also feeds to LPS and stuff too!

You guys think I have too many fish?

Personally I would like to add more....see list. I would reconsider this plan (maybe) if I hear good advice.

    x3 bengali cardinal
    x2 firefish
    x1 Powder Blue Tang
    x1 Powder Brown Tang
    x1 Midas Blenny
    x10 chromis

I am also going to take out all the damn damsels.

I don't think you have to many for your size tank. Your tank stays preaty clean and has no hair algae so IMO you fish load is fine.

I agree, if everything looks good, must be ok.

    More fish = nicer corals
