shut off pretein skimmer and use melafix. Should take care of it and just keep on eye on the tank for any side effects. Shouldnt be but always watch to make sure.

Get a quarantine tank. It can be something cheap and simple, but you'll be glad that you have it in the end. Quarantine new fish and dip corals.

Where are you located? Someone might even have a quarantine tank you could borrow.

Do not treat the whole tank. Melafix is especially dangerous in salt water use. It will deplete the oxygen. Take care when using this. I learned this the hard way..

From my experience with fungal infections in fish, it doesn't seem to be contagious, so not sure you really need to catch and quarantine the fish (which adds more stress to the fish and other tank inhabitants), if you're sure its fungus. Definitely do not treat with Melafix, its not really for saltwater tanks. Get a good vitamin supplement with garlic (or you can mince your own garlic, but most fish don't like the taste, so pick out the pieces) and Omega vitamins (or you can puncture a fish oil capsule intended for humans)and soak your fish's food in it for at least 5 min. It actually sounds like pop eye to me, which can be caused by physically injuring the eye or a bacterial infection. The whole eye will look like its going to pop out. Fungal infections are usually white and opaque, often "fluffy" looking. Good luck.....a picture would help a lot in seeing what's going on.
