GFO issues

    Yup! I broke my refractometer once. And the backup hydromeyer read that the tanks was 1.022 at 1.025. Had to mark 1.022 as ok until the new refractometer got in. Could you imagi e what the salinity would have been had I raised it from 1.022 to 1.025... terrible devices ajd a cause of huge issues in the hobby. Yoi can get a cheap refractometer for about double thw cost of a hydrometer and save hundreds in fish!

    Just grabbed a refractometer from ebay. Been meaning to get one a long time ago and finally told the wife to leave me alone so I could buy one. $24 isnt that bad anyway. Will post SG readings once it gets here. Planning to take water over to Pet's Playhouse tomorrow or Monday.

    Got the refractometer in earlier this week. Tested my SG and found it at 1.010 - oops! I'll slowly bring it up to 1.026 over the course of the next week so I don't shock my tangs.
    Now to get rid of all the brissle worms...

    Did u calibrate it? Just makin sure its not off and ull go too far the other way!
