I was looking at the different photo albums and came across this event.  Does anyone have the recipe/instructions for the food that was made, and can post it?

Thanks for the link.  Do you just mix it all together in the blender then freeze it?  How long can you expect to feed the tank with this batch before its time to make more?  When feeding do you drop it in the tank frozen, or wait for it to unthaw before feeding?

You have to rinse it and blend it. It's quite a bit of work and it will cost you around $300 for all of the ingredients, but it would last someone a long, long time.

You freeze it into thin flat blocks using plastic bags (you can use egg crate if you want to make small uniform squares). You break off a little chunk and thaw it in some tank water (some people choose to rinse again, but I don't). Then you either target feed with it or just dump it in your tank.

at the grill-out we were talking about doing another one of these. Hopefully our CR leadership can coordinate something in the next few months.

I'd be interested in a DIY food meet.
AJ gave me a small sample from the last batch and my fish seem to really like it.

These recopies make *A LOT* of food and it's very nutrient rich. For that reason, some people don't like using as their primary fish food. Maybe used flakes or pellets for the fish and supplement with that on occasion. Others use it all the time. You know your tank best.

+1 with Strong for another DIY food meeting. I got about 3lbs of the last one we did, and I think that stuff was awesome. Hope we can get another one going soon.
