so im looking to get a couple firefish gobbies, but i also like jawfish and blemmies.
are there any blemmies/jawfish  that are less likely to jump out of a tank then others?

I have a Spotted (Starry) Sailfin Blenny..probably 5 inches. After 8 months, he's never tried to get out. I once had a Yellow Watchman Goby.... spent his first, and last, night on the floor.

the heavier you stock, the more likely to have one go carpet surfing.. especially if you have multiple gobies/ blennies competing for the same nice in the aquarium... Not sure your tank size, but 2 non paired gobies in a 75 could be pushing it... Fire Fish are totally different, and are not really considered a goby anymore.

if you have a enclosed hood.. that helps prevent carpet surfing too

currently i have 1 firefish, a sixline, and a clown.  Im planning on adding 1 more firefish and clown soon and some sort of gobby/jawfish.
this is a 55 gal and i have a hood but it doesnt cover the back of the tank because of my HoB skimmer and filter

I know the blue spot and yellow headed (AKA pearly) jawfish both jump habitually. I love the bi-color blenny, not a jumper that I'm aware of, mine stays in my tank and is a hoot to watch!

how about you cover the back on the hood with netting? tulle, eggcrate, etc. leaveit open for air, not acrobatics.
