I had a question about torch coral placement. I just picked up an awesome gold/orange and blue torch coral from Exotic Critter Corner in Maquoketa and am having a hard time finding a good spot in my tank. It was an impulse purchase I've never seen them in this color scheme before and got caught up in the moment, the aussie shipment he got in is amazing by the way.

When they say the sweepers can extend 6 inches, does that mean I should give 6 inches in all directions, or 6 inches total (3 inches from center). I have a frogspawn for over a year, and never saw a sweeper so I have no frame of reference. Also are there any corals it can go close to it without fear? I think it would be cool to put right next to my frogspawn, but would hate to start a war ./Portals/0/activeforums_Attach/004_image.jpg

That is the only one, I meant it had blue tips. I took the pic with my ipad, so it's not the best, tomorrow when it opens all the way up I'll get more pics.

Mine has a full 6" sweeper....so make sure you give it plenty of space. It would harm most other corals it comes in contact with. Give a good 8" clearance all around. Mine does touch my frogspawn at times and appears to finally start to take it's toll on the frogspawn.

Give it plenty of space because the sweepers will really stretch out in the flow...you will be surprised by how far they will reach /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif They definitely will hurt LPS and SPS.

Mine likes moderate lighting and flow. As the other guys have said it likes to sweep! I think it has reached about a foot before.. Enjoy!

Ill be sure to keep an eye out for the sweepers. I created a little more space for it, hope it's good for now. When I setup my new tank, I'll be sure to leave plenty of room for it.
    Thanks

When it gets too big, I'm sure there will be plenty of people willing to take a pice of it off your hands.
