Anyone had any luck with these? I keep reading that it is possible to keep them and people have been having better luck with them. I am tempted to try one or two out.

the red and purple ones have a great survival rate, the green just do not.

There are quite a few variieties.

I have a nice red one. I believe one of the tricks is to feed it like you would a sun coral.

I dont do that, but I do feed the tank as a whole very heavily

I've had a green gonapora that I bought from Aquatic Enviroments last summer. It has done very well and takes up a whole corner of my tank when its fully expained. The core is about the size of a baseball but when the polyps are extended they are 6-10" long. Very nice peice. I also heard they were very hard to take care of but I'm either that good or lucky.... I think lucky. I have it under 250w 10k halides and T-5 actinics. It seems to prefer a medium current to keep the polyps moving but not pushed over. We've had several at the fish store I work at and some do great others not so much. We've had good luck with branching gonapora under HO T-5 with again medium current. I'd definitely make sure the piece is not receeding prior to buying one. Once they take a turn for the worst it is usually over.

Anyone have one they are wanting to get rid of or frag /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/wink.gif I think I am going to give one a try and see how it goes. I am good at feeding my tank heavily so hopefully I have good luck with it. Anyone have a recommendation where to find one?
