I just purchased an aiptasia zapping wand. Majano Wand. It has officially become my favorite piece of equipment associated with this hobby. I took ownership of a 96 gallon aquarium back in June. It had quite a bit of aiptasia. Since then the existing aiptasia has matured and continued to spread within the tank. It only took me a few minutes to ZAP over 30 aiptasia. It was not on for the entire duration, only when it was in contact with aiptasia. It may take several attempts to completely kill the ones i zapped but i don't mind. I actually hope i get to use it more because it is an absolute blast to use!/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif watching the little buggers wither and boil with gas from the inside was surprisingly satisfying. I really think the club should purchase one and lend it out to club members like they currently do with the PAR meter.

I've got some growing back that my Peppermints aren't touching. Would definitely be interested to see what happens.

Great idea. There is some myth that the wand's tip is actually capable of stinging a human being... I have personally held the tip with my bare fingers and hit the button: no damage, I've had my hand in the water while the wand is on without injury, I probably just wouldn't touch the tip while its in the water and would always be aware that the tip is sharp at the point. I believe the major concern with this would always remain safety.

I'd also like to bring it up as a reminder that I am breeding Berghia Nudibranchs, and expect to have the first batch by mid spring! Berghia are a acclimate them, place them, and leave them solution to aiptasia, they eat only aiptasia, and will not allow it to spread.

That is a good idea for the club to have one or two!
