This really struck me today, so I had to share it.

This is a tank I have had running for about 6 weeks or so. The tank is divided into 3 separate compartments, but they all share the same sump, and they all have a hydra 26 hanging on them.

The first tank I have an mp40 running (just check different wet sides to make sure they are all working).

The second tank has no flow other then the return pump.

As you can see the tank with the mp 40 is perfectly clean, and the tank without is growing some nasty algae.

So if you are fighting algae, maybe try cranking up the flow.
