Green hair algae in my tank seems to be getting worse.  Any advice on slowing or eliminating it would be appreciate.  Recent changes have been GFO/Carbon and dosing.  It's weird that it seems to be picking up and my parameters are getting better?  Any help would be great!

Being better at my water change frequency and high Mg dosing did the trick for me. Might check on that.

What is your light cycle? I decreased my light cycle to about 8 hours of full lights, increased water changes for a few weeks and it has not been back.

emerald crabs, blue leg hermit crabs, and urchins will eat alot of hair algae but you need to figure out he reasons for it first the usual culprits are high nitrates, high phosphates, and or old light bulbs

If your water parameters are in check (N and P = 0) then N and P are likely leeching out of your rocks, and the algae gets it before the GFO can take it out. It will just take time. I see this kind of think now and then when people start an Algae Scrubber to eliminate the DT algae, but it doesn't go away. In some cases I've heard of it taking up to 6 months to fully leech out, it depends on the rock and how long it's been saturated.

It is likely a combination of things, like checking lights and boosting clean-up-crew, which as has been already mentioned. But as Matt said you need to get to the root of the problem

    What are you water parameters?

So my water parameters are basically un-detectable with a api test kit. My calcium is 420ish, dkh 7 going on 8, (im trying to increase this with dosing. MG is 1500.

    Phosphate is less than .25
    nitrates 0
    salinity 1.026

I'm running carbon and GFO as well as a bio pellet reactor.

I use an air water and ice RO with relatively new filters, the TDI says 0 at output.

I use reef crystals to mix my salt and I top off with RO/DI water with no additives.

Metal halides are 6 or 7 months old. PC's have never been replaced.
