Name is Charles, got into the aquarium stuff about a month ago or so.
As of right now I only have a tank with 3 Puffers, and a feeder tank~
I'm definately finding all of this very fascinating [IMG]
Hopefully in the future I'll be able to creep into the reef hobby, but for now I'm just finding resources and knowledge to arm myself with..
Good to see that there is a group around CR/Iowa!
Anyways, thanks for having me, and after finding out more about all this stuff and the dedication behind it, you all have my admiration!
    I salute you! [IMG]

Welcome /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif I love puffers.......I have a TON of nano conches if you ever want any for food or for your feeder tank. They reproduce very easily, but they're only about half an inch long or so. I'd recommend you join the club, you'll get your money's worth /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif

    Hey welcome.

I envy you, I would love to set up a predator tank someday. One of my dream fish is a golden puffer, they are awesome.

Well right now I have a 55g, but that's because I was one of those suckers that bought a fish at walmart then came to find out what it REALLY entails...
But I was up to the challenge, went from a 10g to a 55g, already planning on the setup for a 90g. That was a month ago and all 3 puffs are doing WAY better than they were at wally world, they're at 1.01sg, and going strong, and they're looking better everyday. They even get all up in my face when I'm changing water thinking I'm putting food or the like in the tank /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif
I've been reading non-stop since then too trying to figure out all this stuff. (When I got em, I pretty much only knew "fish live in water and eat stuff" lol, my strength is computers/programming)

I will totally take you up on that offer phishcrazee! /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif They go through snails like mad...

And yes, I'm glad to actually FIND a group here in Iowa for aquarium type stuff! I will admit though, I have a new found respect for reef keepers, it's unlike anything else I've seen, probably even more tedious/challenging than programming in certain ways lol...

Btw, I saw there's a meeting tonight, but how often are meetings etc? I probably can't make it tonight, gotta work late, but ya, I'm really digging this stuff, it's kina a needed break from my main hobby/work of PC's 24/7...

But yes, thanks again, I'll have to look around the site some more, but if you happen to know any links that might help me mature from my newbness, feel free!

My demand is higher than my supply and all the fish stores in CR are out lol
Until I get some snails I'll prolly have to buy some clams from HyV... :/
