Anyone else deal with Coralvue on this issue? The problem is that the original mount as too tight and the cord had to bend too tight, they alleviated that when they came out with the virbration-free mount but I thought I remember hearing that they were replacing motors too for people who had the cord kink problem. I submitted a ticket but I'm interested to hear if anyone was able to get a replacement motor and if it was considered a warranty issue or if they had to pay ($70) for it.

I bought it in Nov 2014 and got the vibration free mount about 6 months ago, hopefully it's not a 1 year thing as I am about 4 months past that now.

I was thinking that I could put a dab of epoxy over the cracked area. I really don't want to have to wait a few weeks to put this back into my tank. Pretty sure the cord and conductors are epoxy sealed inside the motor head.

They replaced both of mine under warranty plus they sent new controllers for each. You just have to open a claim ticket under coralvues website and give them the serial number I believe it is on the magnet.

I kept my old motor blocks figuring I could epoxy them as well

yeah I had the controller replaced right away so I already had all my info on a previous ticket, we'll see what happens since I think I'm out of warranty

Thanks for sharing. I didn't know there was an issue. I'll keep an eye on mine.

My epoxy sealing job seems to be working just fine, but then again the motor worked just fine before I saw the cord sheath crack.

Coralvue support is sending me a replacement motor, no charge!

That's great. It is a manufacturing problem that should be covered in warranty or not. Especially when water and electricity is involved
