Do you remember when the vortech pumps came out & it changed water flow in reef tanks?

Thenew Gyre pumps will do the same thing.

They had two of the medium sized ones rocking a 120 gallon tank running at 40%. They will be incredible!

    small medium or large.

The small will be $189, and I think two will do most tanks honestly.

They come with controllers to control speed, and duration

Why would you need two? Are they putting one on each side of the tank to switch flow direction at intervals or something?

Two small you can run one vertically and one horizontally. They you can get more turbulent flow

Oh just wait two or three years and a foreign company will hack the schematics and start making one for 1/3 the price!

By then my new WP-25s will probably be shot so I can also get those knockoffs if I'm willing to wait. I think the Chinese government should have awarded me a commendation by now with how I've equipped my tank.

Personally I think the WP40 is a piece of ****.

Yeah it is cheaper but that is about the only redeeming feature.

I can't believe these things get compared to MP40's or Tunzes. It would be more accurate to compare them with Hydor's.

Will be selling mine asap in the buy sell forum.

The RW series is better than the WP, makes the flow wider more like vortech. I visited a friend in Chicago that got the RW-15s and he had the WP-40s before and vortechs before they went bad and he had to replace them. Right now for a cost/benefit purchase I'd say two RW-8s with the JBWave controller added would be my choice if I didn't already have the WP-25s. That is to say until the gyre pumps get some time tested approval. Also, when is someone going to create probes that plug into a laptop via USB and use proprietary software to function instead of overpriced hardware? I think someone could become pretty wealthy developing a system that gets rid of custom hardware and just lets you use existing computing power for aquarium monitoring. Seneye is dabbling in it but it is very limited and they are trying to cram it into one device.
