    FREAKING RULE.

I have long been an advocate of Lamotte test kits. I still am. They are very good kits.

However I have recently purchased three of the Hanna Checkers. I got the Phosphate, Alkalinity, and Nitrite. They were $49 each and a 25 sample regent costs $10 more. They are super simple to use, and appear accurate. I have crossed checked them against my Lamotte's and both produce similar results.

They can't be calibrated, but you can use distilled water to make sure they check out at zero. Right now they are all spot on. But I will know more a few months I guess.

Finally, I spoke with hanna yesterday and they are working on several other checkers. The Calcium is almost ready.....she said not before the new year but probably Q1. The Nitrate will be out very soon (before the Calcium). They also are researching Mg and Salinity but aren't sure if they can pull those off.

Google 'hanna checker' for more infor. I'm not lazy, I just can't post a damn link in Safari.

Wow, those are awesome. The phosphate and alk seem intriguing.

I have the Alk one and it works very well. The 5 regents that it came with were from one of the first lots and did not work though. The 25 pack that I bought along with it are great though and it seems to be very accurate. I found out that my salifert test kit was way off.

I have heard mixed reviews on the phosphate one and how accurate it truly is. So many people were getting the reading of 0 all the time that they are thinking maybe they just round down to make people feel better. I am going to be looking into Milwaukees line of checkers.

Yeah they totally rule. I get incredibly accurate readings out of this 40 dollar one. I don't understand what the difference is between it and the 200 dollar PO4 checker. From what I've read..nothing except the casing.
