I got a harlequin shrimp about a month ago to take care of some of those little star fish that were starting to break out in my tank and the little guy completely eliminated them.  I've been scaning my rocks for days and there is not a single one left.  I got him with the intention of doing this and passing him along when his job was complete, I just didn't expect him to be so efficient.  Anyway, if anyone would like him for their tank I'm up for a trade of pretty much any corals I don't have or $13.  I'd like to get rid of him as soon as possible, he's started making eyes at my sand sifter and I'm having trouble convincing my wife that the  chocolate chip I got was for food when he finished with the little ones.  I'm in the Waterloo area.

Just like everything else in this hobby, A few here and there isn't bad but when you get thousands of them they get to be unsightly to look at.

Yeah it depends, there are different types from what I've read. The white ones tend to stick with coraline algea and others (more greenish or brown) will go after some corals. The shrimp has been spoken for but for anyone else I would highly recommend one. They are small, but man they have an appetite. Plus they are one of the coolest looking inverts in my opinion and completely reef safe.
