    Never heard of it.
There are tons of products out there that claim they work wonders.
The question that needs addressed here is" Why are ur nitrates so high? there's usually always a reason
Overfeeding, not enough water changes,? not tryin to rag on ya man.
try & figure out why they r so high and do water changes.

I would guess he is talking about this

I would guess its based on a coil denitrator. Do a google search of them and you'll get more info, and even some DIY plans for them.

Sounds like it has the potential to be nothing more than simple collection of the "Fool and His Money" Tax.

As I've been told many times, nothing beats a good old fashioned water change.

I have one of their first models. Got it for a fish only tank that was off chart with nitrates. With lots of water changes and using it the nitrates came down . Since then I started up a reef tank and hooked it up to that just to be safe. Don't know if working but nitrates on reef always been 0. Been wanting to turn it off but afraid of nitrates going up. U need to add sugar water or vodka at least once a week. Personally for money look at a algae scrubber, made one for another fish only tank and am seeing nitrates come down without having to do anything to it except scrape off half the algae that grows .
