Just wanted to let everyone know if you have had your eyes on a Vortech pump, now is the time to buy. Vortech is doing a 20% mail in rebate on all their pumps, bought from a dealer. I just got a MP10ES that my wife will give me on Christmas. Anyway, they never seem to have sales, so if you want to jump, now is a good time. Good til December 2nd.

this one is going to be the second in my 58 gallon. This first one isn't wireless, but I think I can get a wireless module for it. Anyone use the wireless for two? worth it?

If the rest of the tank is really quiet, then yes the vortech is pretty loud and noticable ramping up and down. If you're going for dead silent something completely internal would be a better way to go.

Yes, both wireless is woth the extra expense IMO.

I have an MP60 and 2_MP 40's. Mine are "not" noisey at all! If others' are, it may be the spacer isn't correct or, it/they are running at a "very high speed"....

One of my MP10's is very quiet and the other is loud enough that I don't feel comfortable turning it up more than 50%-it sounds like it will rattle itself apart.. I've had the quiet one running for at least 6 months. I just installed the loud one last week. I plan to call the manufacturer to see if they can help.

I should add that I really like the vortech pump design and features. Worth every penny.

The mp10 might just need bearings if you've tried all you can to align it

I should have someone who's experienced with the MP40's come and take a look at mine.

From what I can tell, I have them setup right, but they have a very loud "whine" when they are running at more than 50% power. When they are in pulse or reef crest mode, they are really, really load as them ramp up and down.

I don't expect them to be totally silent, but they are louder than I would have hoped.
