Recently got this guy and was wondering if anyone has had experience with them? Will I be able to add another later on?

I think they're typically pretty aggressive towards the same species unless you happen to get a male and female to pair up. Cool fish for sure though. Had one for awhile. Pretty sure I lost it to the carpet though. :(

    Is it in QT?

If so I would get another now & try to add them at the same time if you want a pair. I have had luck with them doing it that way.

Very small mouths & stomachs. So they need very small food & a few times a day.

From the photo, it looks like his stomach is shrunk, so I would start feeding as often as you can. Compared to this one.

I have good luck feeding them artemia to get them used to prepared foods. They really like cyclopeeze or calanus to start with.

I know you have a ton of fish experience, so he should be in good hands.

Thanks for all the replies. Yes he is in qt. eats everything and a lot of it for such a small fish. I accidentally was not paying attention and accidentally dropped in PE mysis and he took down a piece of that. Craig everything at my house gets fat as long as it eats. My wife loves to feed. I will take pics tomorrow to see if he gained weight. I only had it for a week and really liked it so I was going to see if anyone had one tomorrow unless people thought they would kill each other. Not the cheapest of little guys. My wife has always wanted one now I am a big fan as well!

Sweet, they are one of my all time favorites. I plan on adding a pair as well.

Not a very good pic but you can see he is getting fat.

@xroads@xroads - your pics aren't showing up. I was especially interested in seeing the brine hatching set-up. Could you repost? :)

They love to jump and if you get two you have to add them at the same time, and normally the bigger one will be a bit aggressive to the smaller one, but if the tank is big enough it should work out well with enough room.

@xroads@xroads it looks like you tried to either drag & drop pics out of hotmail or you opened them up and then copied the link and pasted that, either way the links are private so no one else can see them (so neither can the forum software). You need to save to your phone/PC and then upload as files or drag & drop them into the editor window

They were working at one time. So something changed after they were posted.

    The links look like this...

...when you put that link directly into a browser, it resolves to a generic Office 365 / outlook.com page. I never saw the images so it must have happened before I viewed the thread
