I was in Aquatic Environments last week and they had Tonga for $3 a pound if I remember right. That's dirt cheap for local pick up commercial stuff.

And if you are new to salt....check out our sponser Bulk Reef Supply. They sell "Eco rock", which is dry rock. You can build a base up with it and then seed it with live rock....which is usually much cheaper than all live rock.....and the stuff on the bottom of the pile will die anyway.

Or you can make it outta concrete and oyster shells, or there is the cool ceramic stuff...and then you got your spray foam proponents...fiberglass inserts....

Ya know, I think I could work that up into a topic for the next QC meeting....

When/if you are ready, I have some rocks with quite a few red and purple shrooms. I live an hour away in IL. Also have more basic softies.

I'm in Monmouth IL. I really haven't given much thought to price, the rocks are fairly large. One is flat and about 6 inches across, the other is round and the size of a softball (a little bigger). I'd say the rocks are valued at 20$, the corals another 20$ or 25$. There are lots of mushrooms on both of them, over a dozen. I also have some extra zoas, kenya tree (I think that's the name), several large mats of green star polyps, I also have a tiny, and I mean tiny, head of hammer coral. If you are interested we can talk more about prices, I am kinda overloaded on liverock, and didn't want to just throw corals away, so I let them stay and have just worked around the mess.
