Gota little problem with my stand and looking for suggestions. I built my stand and everything was level I thought until I brought it inside and I my 135 acrylic tank on it and it wobbles. I had it perfect so I thought in the garage. I even pre filled it an everything was perfect. Now I hav a finished product and a tank that is wobbly.
Do I use insulation between the stand and tank?

How much gap do you have between the stand and the tank? Did the stand twist on you when you moved it to the house. I think with acrylic tanks its usually recommended to put rigid foam under them, but check with the manufacturer for their recommendations.

Just one corner is less than a 1/8" maybe 3/16".Manufacturer of the tank was Tenecor and is out of business now.

I would say that's a pretty significant gap. Definitely need to check into that stand closer and see what happened between the garage and the house. You still want it as close as possible to flat and level before adding any kind of foam base.

Thinking about going with the blue foam board or a foam mat. I could always use a sheet of 3/4" plywood on top of my existing top and then shim as needed. I think that would be the best way.

Your stand looks great! Does it have enough flex that you could shim underneath?

I built a stand this summer and my garage floor is very uneven. I planned it to go in my utility room which has an uneven tile floor. I did my best to build it square and I installed levelling mounts on the bottom. The levelling mounts can be adjusted to level the stand and twist it so the tank has even contact.

Your stand top needs to be as close to perfectly flat and level before you add the foam. Foam does NOT fix the issue. It only removes possible pressure points or imperfections in the stand top.

Well looks like a piece of3/4 plywood is getting installed on top of my current stand.

I agree with Bud (turbo), Why can't you shim the stand up? Is your garage heated? If not, the heat in your house is pulling the moisture out of the wood and it will do some strange things as it dry's.
