Help Identify Algae

    I have the same stuff in my tank right now I think it is hair algae if you take some out it looks just like it but not green kind of brownish

    My hair algae looked like that before it died out

    Looks like a combination of different ones:

    red slime / cyano (1st and 3rd pics)
    hair algae (4th pic w/ the green digi)
    diatoms (1st pic)
    Calothrix or Lyngbya (2nd/3rd pics)

    Perhaps this can help you identify it as it's hard to tell the texture/structure from a picture:

    What's the TDS of your ro/di and what type of lights/ age of bulbs?

    Checked the TDS just now and its at 10
    The lights are LEDs
    And yea I do have some red slime/cyano.
    The first pic is not cyano except on the far left of the picture..

    Based on the coloration of your zoas, I think it's safe to rule out the lighting. TDS of 10 is pretty high. Get that down to 0 & run some GFO for awhile. That should take care of it (along with manually removing it).
