I need help with the equipment list. What type and size skimmer do I need? Will my CPR aero force work? Also what size sump?what size and type return pump. I have an mp10 which I will need to sell to get an mp40. With one be enough? Getting 2 ai sol blues and using my nano for extra . I have an ato. Now for gfo and carbon do I use  the tlf reactors and what size?  I am writing on the fly here so any other ideas for equipment for this tank are welcome. I have an ac3 at the moment as well. Thanks guys

Where is the sump going to be compared to the DT? That would help us out telling you what pump to use. Also what size is the skimmer compartment going to be so we know if the current skimmer will fit or if you'll need a smaller skimmer. Also the total # of gallons in your water column so we can figure out if the skimmer will handle the water volume.

I have an Iwaki 30 RXT that might work for your return. It is external though. Comes with 1" Unions on the In and Out puts. I'd like $50 for it. I also have an Iwaki 40RXT that needs a new impeller, also external and has the same 1" Unions on it for In and Out put. Would like $50 for it as well since it isn't out putting correctly.

What kind of space are you looking at for all this equipment?

The space I m looking at right now is under the tank . That may change though and become an in wall tank. It all depends on what the house diagrams say about what is behind a wall in the basement.

If you go in wall you need to go bigger than a 90.

Nem I have the same tank. If you go under the stand and are using a standard size 90g stand, you wont want anything bigger then a 20long sump. I have a 30 long undermine and it is just too big and is difficult to maintain with such limited space plus there is very little room for any extra equipment.. I also use a octopus nwb150 skimmer and it works fine.
I have a mag9.5 this is turned down about 1/3 of the way. My next return will be an external. The heat from these is noticeable.
Depending on what you are doing 1 mp40 may be enough. I ran 1 for a while but have since went with 2.
The 1 piece of equipment I wish I had over all other is a dosing system. I don't own a controller and not sure if I really need one. I would be nice for monitoring though
The reason why you will want bigger is mostly due to how wide a 90gal tank is.  18inchs doesn't give you a lot of room for scaping and you end up a lot of times with rock on the back panel. Makes it a little harder to maintenance.

Bigger tank, bigger and more fish, and of coarse more room for corals. Why not bigger?? lol

Mthomp- thanks for all the advice I will definitely use it.
    Blackx-runner- I really wanted a 125 but finances and wife dictated a 90. I know I did want bigger. But remember I am going from a 7.5 gallon to a 90. Lol

My 75g has a 30breeder for sump and I wouldn't go any smaller my self. It works great and you got to check it out at meeting and anytime you want to stop by a chat your welcome to.

Where do you keep your reactors kpotter? I have to keep all my equipment under my stand and my 30 long wont accommodate that, it eats up too much room.

My two little fish is inside the tank. I have a BRS reactor that I have yet to hook up. I think I am going to run it outside my sump on the wall beside my tank for easy access, but I may just put it inside where I have about 18" x 9" on my right side.

NP. It'll do the job well. Not sure what else I have laying around but hey if you need help carrying the tank in or building the stand let me know. I am working on figuring out a way to become a certified electrician as well so I can help with electrical for tanks.

I am in the process of rebuilding my electrical for my tank. I have a step out breaker box for my tank so all my stuff for the tank has 50 AMPs total but each outlet only has 15 AMPs per.
