I was thinking bout doing a hex reef tank but i have a concern.  Would it provide enough swimming room for certain fish.   I was thinking of trying to do a center overflow return so it would be a 360 degree view.  Not sure how feasible this is, but thought it would look cool.  But mostly I'm concerned about the swimming area.  I know a retangular tank would provide a longer stretch.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I always thought that large hex tanks are very cool looking. I think if you make it more of a rectangular hex meaning that two sides are longer than the rest that you would be fine. Depending on how big you are going, you could always just stick with smaller fish anyways.

Great idea it would look awesome and I think it would be ok for smaller reef fish. If you do this you should do a build thread.

Well I found a 90 gallon Hex  that I thought would provide plenty of room for a 360 reef.  Other concern would be  flow but I was thinking of off setting a couple powerheads to provide a circular movement throughout the tank.  Not quite sure how I would plumb in the center overflow , but I don't think I would have a problem with that.  But the sump might be kinda tricky.  I definately think it would be a fun tank to build.
Would definately have to set up a tank build.   I need to do that for my current tank still!! Ha
