I was looking on RC and saw that the WP40 pumps had a lot of reports of dying off at about 1 year. Been about a year since these hit the scene. Does anyone have anything new to report?

Thinking about sprucing up the flow in my 75. I was thinking two MP25s, each on opposite ends. This will be sps tank.

The biggest reason I have seen in these not performing at their max after time is due to them not being cleaned and coraline covering them. Taking them out occasionally and cleaning them fixes this. For what it's worth we have been selling them for nearly a year now and have 1 returned in that time.

    4 wp-40's and 2 wp-60's in service for just over a year. Have had 1 40 fail.

I'll agree with keeping them clean. Pumps in general but I'll notice a very slight noise from mine if I've neglected them for months at a time. Few hours in vinegar and good as new. Dave I'd still like to check out your setup sometime if I ever get a chance. I bet the 60's are pretty strong.

I have a mp25, mp40, and a mp60 and have had zero problems with them and wouldn't hesitate to buy more if I needed them.

Have 2 of the 25's. Agree its important to keep them cleaned. They stopped working on me but once I cleaned the impeller/magnet, they worked like new again. I forgot how powerful they were and after the cleaning they blew the flesh off the coral that was in direct flow.

So a few hours in vinegar every few months?
