I currently have a 135 rr with a 25ish gal sump along a wall.  I just got a 54 gal corner tank and plan to take the 135 down.  The corner I want to put the 54 in is about 3 ft from the 135.
I REALLLY want to set up the 54 corner, get the rock set up and get it up and running before I take down and sell the 135.  My concern is the weight of both tanks along the same wall.  I want to be able to sleep knowing it's ok for both tanks set up along the same wall and not fallen down in the basement on top of the big screen tv.  All that weight makes me nervous.  [IMG][IMG]

Usually being next to the wall makes it better sense there is more structure to that area. Is it a new home or older home? Long as it seems structurally sound then you should be fine

I would say it is ok. I know of two tanks that are 200+ gallons and there sumps along one wall so I see no problems with that setup. Shaun

you'll be fine there on the out side wall plus your house is new enough that you will be fine no need to worry

I guess it would be considered a newer home...1990's. The floor joists run the opposite of how the tanks sit. When we made the family room downstairs we put extra 2x4's along that wall because of the 135.

Now 2 200 gal tanks would make me completely crazy..lol

I feel better about going ahead and setting up the 54. Anyone need a Oceanic 135 RR ??

i agree, as long as your tanks are spread out on your joists you should be ok..

    72" x 18" x 25"  It's a Reef Ready.  Each back corner has an internal overflow.

Oceanic 135 RR Tank, Oceanic Med Oak stand and 25+ gal  sump  $700

72" Nova Extreme pro T5 lights  $400 (new in Nov)
I don't want to take it down until I get everything into the 54 gal and make sure it's all working ok.  A few weeks maybe.

No, it would have to go together unless you can find someone that wants the stand.
