how to hang filter sock??

    was just wondering if they should be suspended above the water or in the water a little and how far my return pipe should go down in them.  I'm tying mine for the time being till i get the time to make a better holder

    I am not sure it really matters. I generally see them out of the water a ways with the pipe just below the opening. I am sure you meant drain pipe not return pipe? :)

    yes yes i did, it was early in the morning when i typed it haha. but it does kinda matter, cause i want to reduce the sound as much as possible and dont want the water running out the tops of the socks like it has done on me before :) haha

    Mine is really just sitting in the sump with the top of the sock just below the top of the sump so there is no over flow problems. As mentioned really doesn't matter

    Ah ok, that is another story then. What I guess I meant was that I don't believe for functionality of the sock itself it makes a diff :)

    oh mine wont overflow the sump just i thought the water was spose to run through them but i think i got to much water coming through and it just overflows the sock so not sure what all is being caught by it haha.

    I have that mount actually. Pretty nice except I hacked off the pvc sense my drain line is bigger.

    yeah it wont fit over a rubbermaid sump i dont think :)

    You could probably make your own just like that out of a sheet of acrylic too. Might not look as nice but it would be custom for your sump /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/wink.gif

    I had limited space, and couldn't use one of them premade sock holders. So I came up with this idea.   It isn't the prettiest, but it does work good.  The socks are home made.  I used a cross nit plastic ring and a 100 micron filter pad, and just sewed them up.
