How do I write a program so my APEX will warn me if it loses power? Is that possible? Must have tripped a breaker in our apartment overnight the other night and woke up to find my tank off and cold. My mandarin isn't too happy about it but I *think* she's going to be ok. (Hoping!) Everyone else seems good.
Especially with me moving soon to Ames and possibly being away from home a few days at a time during the process, I would really want some warning next time.
My 8 outlets are currently 1- Blue LED plug, 2- White LED plug, 3- Heater 1, 4- Heater 2, 5- Sump light, 6- Powerheads and Skimmer, 7- Reactor and ATO, 8- Return pump.
I'm still pretty much lost on anything but very basic programs for the APEX. Any suggestions or ideas will be greatly helpful!!
    Thanks,Kylie

The way I do it is this...

You need to buy a UPS supply and a power brick for your apex. Hook up your modem and router, and apex to the UPS.

When the power goes out in your house, your apex, router, and modem stay powered for anywhere from 1-15 minutes....long enough for your apex to send out a warning email to you.

The warning would be that your EB are powered off, as they would be if your power went out.

So basically your code would be: (email warning)
If Power EB8_3 Off 000 Then ON
If Power EB8_6 Off 000 Then ON
If Power EB8_7 Off 000 Then ON

Or sign up for reeftronics.net. When you loose power to your entire home including apex and internet peripherals reeftronics notify's you via email and SMS.

It's a free service and a lot less work that having everything hooked up to a UPS.

If you just need to be notified when you loose power to your EB8's then the code Potroast would be fine.

Thanks! I'll check into both. I'd love to have a backup power someday but the reeftronics sounds like a good alternative for now
