if you can't get a good picture, then you can always do a google search saltwater ich, and provide a link to a fish that looks to be of similar degree infection. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/wink.gif

Had Ich in Taki's tank recently. The restaurant owner picked up a Blue Tang from IC/CR and they spent an hour catching it with a 5g bucket. Stressed it out. 3 days later he had ich. I had him lower the salinity to 26ppt and treat with ich-x from IA Pet Foods & Aquatics (Tim's Advice) and keep feeding them good food and make sure they are all eating. it's been a few months now and he is raising the salinity slowly. None of the other fish showed signs of infection.

There are a few schools of thought on the ich topic but what it comes down to is that there are basically 2 and only 2 methods that work. Hypo and Copper.

    http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forums/fish-diseases-treatments/52236-curing-fish-marine-ich.html

Now 26ppt or 1.018 is not technically hypo. I believe 1.009 is. But that is borderline enough to cause hemorrhaging. Also corals/inverts will not survive that. So in tank, the best you can do is 26 and ich-x.

FWIW, they lost power to the big 1200g tank at IA pet overnight and restored in the AM, all fish were ok after a bit and 3 days later all fish were ich covered. Scott apparently did the ich-x treatment and it seems to have done the trick. But I haven't checked in with Tim lately to see if they relapsed. However the corals didn't bite it. Gonna call him in a bit or you can call the store he's there today.

Thanks bud. I am lookin up the ich x now. I mean if I have to qt the fish I probly will need a 40 gallon tank or so. All the fish are still acting normal. And the ich seems to come and go. So far just those 3 fish still. Goes from almost lookin like no spots to almost covered again. But I had a catscan done today and now apparently I may need a colonoscopy :/. so honestly the tanks kinda been ignored last few days.

Alittle update. Had two fish die but knock on wood everything is looking good and clear. I noticed that my clownfish had been fighting. I have two different pairs in there and maybe that was causing stress on the other fish. So I set up a 28 gallon bowfront for the black and white pair. I drilled the tank and its plumbed into my 120 with 30 gal sump. Worst part was draining my tank down to the sandbed to catch the fish.

Thank you for posting. I temporarily had to put a paper between the tanks. I painted the side of the bowfront but they can see each other still thru the front. I have a 36 watt par38 over it. Looks better in person. I also added 20 lbs of sand to tank.

I ordered another light. Will have 2 36 watt par38's over it. They each have 90 degree lens. Should work pretty nice.
