My advice to everyone is have as many buckets as you can. That way you can fill each one about half or less and put in a rock per bucket. It means more buckets to carry but its so much easier on your back and you don't have to worry about sloshing in the car. You're going to have enough heavy lifting with just the tank and stand, especially if you have any stairs in your path.

Oh, and don't forget to put in your corals overnight. They are really cold the next morning when you take off the lid and find them there. Thankfully, they were ok but I still felt bad. So focused on getting everything set up and the fish in the tank, I forgot about my frag container.

Yep. Favorite pieces made it. The ones that weren't doing so well before the move didn't but my brains and various lps and zoas are all doing really well. But... there is still a ton of empty space in the tank. SO EXCITED FOR MACNA!!!

Been there, done that, not gonna do it again. My college roommate and I moved our two reefs simultaneously over the course of 1 day (and all our other stuff too!). We condensed all the livestock into one tank for a while and it looked awesome.

If I move again, the tank goes with the house. Period. I have been on a long fish hiatus because of moving-I said I wouldn't do it again until I can have a full fish room and most maintenance can be done with a flick of a switch (or less!). My patience is killing me, but I'm getting close.

Yes, I agree with the pain. I'm definitely waiting to start up another system until I know I'm staying somewhere for more than a year. Hopefully, for grad school I will be in the same place, possibly renting a small house for 4 years so that would be a nice time to start a system.
