I'm in need of an idea for an air injector for my skimmer. Taavis and i are trying to run my coralife skimmer without the in sump pump. I bought an external pump and need to figure out how to get air into the skimmer. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks

What kind of pump did you get?

Is it needle wheel, mesh mod, pin?

Well, you'll probably need a venturi or an air stone in the chamber and your recirculating pump should probably have a needle wheel or a mesh wheel.

This is an easy one as I have the same set up as you.
I wanted to get my skimmer out and just hang the pump in.
So here is all you need to do.
The Skimmer came with a small round chamber that connects to air intake for the pump via a long small tube.
The little round air chamber thingy had two holes in it, on to contact the tube to and the other to draw air in through.
Simple go down to Wall-Mart and buy a cheap air pump and some standard air tubing for it.
Then just connect the pump to the other hole on the little gray air chamber thingy.
Make sure to get an air adjustment valve while you are there (in fact it is the valve that I connect right to gray air chamber).
Then find the max air amount that you can get through the pump with out it breaking the injection (you can easily see this chamber bubbles will go away) then back it off a small amount.
PM me if you have any problems.

    Try this http://www.aquaticeco.com/subcatego...-Injectors.
I'm just not sure that the skimmer can hold allot of water flow!!
your best bet is to use an external pump with a needle or mesh mod.
That would be the easy, (best) and safest way.
