I know that pocillopora are known to spawn in captivity as I've seen some members tanks that have "volunteer" pocilloporas growing. My question is, do they ever get to a plague like porportion like Anthelia? We have a lot of them starting to grow all over the place. Probably 15+ in the display tank and almost as many more in the sump and the numbers are growing (and this in just a few months).

They are very small yet but many are not in places I would want them to grow. I assume a dose of kalk paste would take them out if need be. What are your experiences? Thanks

In my experiences you can nutrient starve the tank to keep them from growing too fast. I habe never haf an 'outbreak' situation but i have had one spread when a rock fell on it and shot oieces up into the tank flow. You can bone snip them off. In my tanks they have almost always been near the tip of bew corals. Kalk paste should work just fine.

I've had Pociliopora voulanteers for a couple years, I don't consider them invasive because they are easily removed if you don't like where one pops up.
