I was just wonering if anyone has put a yellow wrasse in their reef tank? I got one at sea of marvels and the owner said it would be! When i got home i did a little research and alot of sources say that they will kill shrimp and inverts. I put him in a qt tank till i get some feedback on this. He is all yellow with a black spot on his top fin. I dont want him in my tank if its going to hurt anything! I am also wondweing if a carpenter wrasse woild be safe?

My limited knowledge of wrasses is that they will all go for shrimp if the shrimp is small enough. Reef safe is an all in one term for "won't kill your corals" I believe.

yellow coris? are a decent wrasse. they get bout 5". will definately eat shrimp and personally might be little worried bout clams as well. Almost all wrasse dine on shrimp though. If it was me i would go with the carpenter. they stay a little smaller and are a little nicer and prettier
