I'm wondering if anyone has seen or dealt with the Nite-Vu LED wiring on these.  My question is, the LED lights don't come on.  I was thinking it might be the AC adapter, but I don't have a good way to check that right now.  Last night I noticed that the LEDs seem wired weird.  It has wires that come out left and right from the controller.  Then the wires go to the bottom left and right LED IN ports and OUT from those to the top left and right OUT ports (not IN).  Then no cable connecting the upper left and right LEDs.  Does that seem right?  It seems like it should be in a loop or at the very least the top two LEDs should have wires going to the IN ports.

Sorry, that sounds confusing.  I'll try to attach a picture later.  I don't want to spend too much time on it because I'm planning on swapping out the entire light with Steve's LEDs.

Here is the picture.  Like I mentioned, those top LEDs are wired to the OUT plugs and there was nothing in between them.

I use one of the original fans in the hood still for an exhaust fan

Thanks for the info. Steve emailed and said they have a JBJ Retro Kit for the 28g now. It's $289. Originally I was leaning that way, but last night I was thinking if I could get the same quality and features with something that replaces the hood altogether I would be interested in that. Decisions, decisions. :)

I would like to grow a
plant on my desk at work. However i don't have any windows. I have heard that
LED lights can work. Can anyone suggest a good LED light that preferably will be
    powered through a USB connection?
