OK, So I have figured out that the original DIY Led of 16 3w led's was just not cutting it.

    Correct lighting:

12" Makerled dimmable drives and 8 royal blue and 8 Natural whites.

    Upgrade too

JBJ Hood bought from Shayna (Thanks much)

I am going to add 3 more Blues and 1 more blue to this build, but for now its just 12 royal blue and 9 Whites. 2 royal blues as Moon lights powered by a 5v power supply.

Here are some pictures they are worth a 1000 words

Had to tare apart the JBJ guts to get my conversion kit to work. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif

Ok the Challenge was to get all this into JBJ Stock hood and mounted some how. This is how I did it. I am very excited about how it came out.

11 3/8 x 16 3/8 1/8 acrylic from Menards this was cut to fit old plastic that held in glass for MH. I cut 4x .75 plastic dowel spacers and put them on all four corners of DIY LED Heat sink to space the glass away from LED's. Then I used old mounting holes for the plastic that keeps MH glass in to mount the new heat sink into place.

This is how it turned out.

OK so I have it completed and on tank ,but my phone died so I could not get more pictures. I will post some more tomorrow on how I did wiring and I am going to add dimming Drivers two.

Thanks and hope you enjoy my project! All this was down with parts I had laying around the house other then the Acrylic.

I will take all suggestion on where to put my skimmer now. lol Oh well one always for gets something. lol

This is what you were working on while I was over there right?

Nice job! What kind of skimmer is it? You could live without it on a tank that size as long as WCs happen regularly.

Yes this is the one I was working on when you stopped by. The skimmer is a Hydor and I am not good about doing water changes. lol

That's a much better light spread than the previous setup. What all is going in that tank for corals/fish?
