To make a long story short, my build plans have changed and the tank is going into a room that is much cooler than the rest of the house year round. I don't expect I will need a chiller so I figured I would gauge interest here. I purchased it used in immaculate condition (it even still has the clear protecting tape on the buttons to prevent scratches in shipping) for $450. The cheapest I have seen them for new is $750 on eBay and $800+ at all other online retailers. I think that is pretty fair and would be willing to do trades as well. Specifically I am interested in a calcium reactor setup or perhaps addon units for a reefkeeper elite. I can provide pics of the actual unit if there is any interest, it is just amongst all of my "soon to be set up stuff" and happens to be in the back of it all... go figure.
I should add that I tested this unit on hot freshwater just to see it start dropping the temps and it works very well. I also have an external feed pump, I believe "little giant" somewhere around the house that could be used with it.
This is a link to the unit in question. **CLICK ME**
EDIT: I am in Ames :)

Do you know how old it is and how much it has been used. Im wondering if it would be big enough for a 210 with 3 400 watt metal halides. Ive been looking for one but not sure if i should go with a half horse, i dont want it to run all the time!

He had it for about a year and used it for about 6 months. I believe he had it on a 250 gallon tank. The specs say this specific model is rated for up to a 340g tank.

Id like to have this chiller. I just dont feel comfortable paying that kind of money for something without a warranty. I dont want to low ball you but would you take less?

I suppose I would consider going a bit lower, but I did also just purchase it for that much and would hate to lose a bunch on it. What were you thinking? I am pretty hard to offend. Worst case scenario I would give you a polite "no" is all.Again, it is in great condition and was working fine when I tested it. If you wanted I could run it for a day or two as well and let you know how things go - I only ran it for a couple of hours to be honest. I don't foresee anything going wrong with it with as little as it was used, but I do understand your concern. That said, that is also why used aquarium products end up selling for less (often MUCH less) than new, unfortunately.
