Just bought two Tunze powerheads, should I get an Apex now?

    I just bought 2 Tunze 6201 pumps, I looked at the controller online. By the time I purchase one I am almost at the cost of an Apex.


    Any suggestions and or advice would be great, also where is the best place to get one at?

    I think yes. I wish I would have gotten one before I got the ai controller any the power heads I have now. You if you get one and run everything through it there are really no limitations. I was shy about the cost and ends up being a good deal on reef central.if I could go back I'd buy one first.

    You have to buy the cable to connect the APEX to the pumps as well, but if you are considering a controller anyway I would not spend the money on the tunze controller. If you're a member on reef central and have enough posts to see the B/S/T forum Apex setups show up pretty frequently, but you have to be pretty quick when its a good deal.
    Just FYI the variable speed ports needed to control the tunze pumps are only on the full apex. You would need to add the VDM module if you bought an Apex Lite.

    Nice buy Ray, I read the updated post on those, left the site to find some info on them and when I returned, they were sold!!

    I would get the Apex it gives you many more options and well worth the money. Its one of the best purchases I have made I run other things off of it beside my reef tanks as well like my reptile tanks.
