Pets Playhouse is doing a fundraiser to help support the local K9 unit this saturday. There will be lots to do outside for the kids. Clydesdales and lhama and ponys, racer cars will be there for people to get their picture taken and printed up on a pre written article that will resemble the front page of tidbits. Food will be there as well as Perkins selling food and gift certificates at half price. All proceeds will go to help buy new dogs. The whole K9 unit will be there all day (unless needed for work) giving bite suit demos and drug searches. Now the best part. The manufactures of Aqueon and Perfecto will be there offering the best deals on their products you will find all year. Plus we are raffling off a 150 cube tank by perfecto. It comes with everything. Has built in overflow and the nicest manufactured canopy I have ever seen. And a Oceanic 175g bowfront full setup. Tickets are $5 each or 5 tickets for 20$. Hope to see you there.
This is the third year pets playhouse has done this for the K9 unit. Every year it gets bigger and better, very well worth going. Nick I will be throw helping probably the hole day. See everyone there.
D*amn it! We're going out of town this weekend /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/sad.gif Yes, we're going to the Shedd Aquarium, BUT, we wouldn't have to drive 5 hours to go to this /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif
Lol wish we could snowman. The event will be from 10-6. It will be an awesome event. Best part is you can watch us get attacked by the k-9's. Last year Dad was dropped by Lucky. This year I will take him on for bragging rights. There will also be lots of other things up for raffle that day as well. Last year I got a night stay at a whirlpool suite and 2 tickets to the comedy club. I believe Nutro will be doing a year supply of dog and cat food as well as a big truckload sale on dogfood.
I would like to thank everyone who volunteered and stopped out. Had a blast and raised $15,000 for our local k-9s.
That's awesome! Hope you guys saw lots of people from the club coming out to support the cause. I must say, those drug sniffing and attack demos were impressive. When they gave the order, that dog took off after the "criminal" and made a flying leap/bite combo that would have left unprotected skin mangled I'm sure. It's amazing how those dogs are just able to turn to attack mode like that in an instant. And I also found it interesting that they give their commands to the dogs in Dutch. Really interesting! I think my daughter's favorite part was the dunk tank. She hit 1 of 3 and loved seeing the guy get dunked. I think her second favorite were the clydesdales. Those horses are *huge*. She had to sit on my shoulder to be at eye level with the horse. Great show and thanks to Pet's Playhouse for showing such strong support for the CRPD and the city of Cedar Rapids. --AJ
